THE MOM

THE MOM: We are responsible for TEACHING the children. This can be so scary. Especially when we look at society today.

In the biblical worldview, the mission of parents is to raise children to follow God. To that end, God designed the family as the primary unit by which children are cared for, loved, trained, and empowered. This requires both kindness and discipline. Being a Christian mother encompasses a great degree of tension. She must be kind but still uphold biblical expectations, and she must know when to let go of the children she nurtured

A great Christian mom supports, trains and encourages her children to follow God’s words, lives how God desires and participates in Kingdom work.

Her entire day encompasses God in what she says, does and is.

6) And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. 7) Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. 8) Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. 9) Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates (Deuteronomy 6:6-9, NLT).

Proverbs 31:26: "She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue."

Deuteronomy 6:6–7: "And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise."

Food for thought; Am I leading my child to success towards a Christ centered life in a world trying to corrupt them?

Am I empowering my child to challenge cultural lies?

I read a great sentence in a book called mamma beat apologetics that said, “When society messes with the definition of truth and/or (biblical truth) it is messing with our children’s very foundation of reality."

Deuteronomy 4:9: "Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them

Friends, WE DO NOT want to raise our children to be Christian atheists. We want to raise our children to be a generation that changes generations. I repeat A GENERATION THAT CHANGES GENERATIONS.

Christian Atheist: A christian at convenience, while not living a God centered and led life.

We are not only at a spiritual war with society but a spiritual battle within our homes for our families HEARTS. If we want change we must create the change within the walls and hearts of our homes! WE must set a precedent and foundation of biblical truth in the minds and hearts of our children that they may wear the armor of GOD and fight their battles with the sword of the spirit to fight against cultural lies.

How?

WE ARE THE HEART.

We as women are called to be the HEART for the home, and being the heart means we are in a spiritual battle for our children’s hearts. The change starts at home. It starts with the US.

It is not easy. In a world consumed by social media, so much darkness it can feel almost impossible to protect our children from the ways of the world. That is why we must be diligent in our teachings to bring up our children with the spiritual sword to fight their battles. We cannot shelter our children. Today it is nearly impossible, but what we can do is prepare them, teach them right from wrong in the eyes of Jesus and equip them to face the things of the world with a heart for Christ. If we want change in our world we must create the change in our homes, in ourselves, in our hearts, so we can in our children.

Proverbs 22:6

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”

We are not perfect. Being a Christian in today’s world is hard. Being a Christian mom in today’s world is hard. But we are adorned with the armor of the Lord. We are blessed with every tool we need to bring up our children in the ways of the Lord. We are equipped and ready.

God does not call us to be perfect. He knows this is something we are not capable of. He calls us to teach his word, to stand for him, raise our children to honor him, to follow his leadership for us.

What would happen if we even spent 5 minutes of the time we spend scrolling on the scriptures and in the word of God? It would be life changing! But not only would it be life changing for us, but it would change the lives of our children.

In order for our children to be equipped with the tools to back up the cultural lies they face and to challenge the with biblical truths, they must first be equipped with knowledge and a heart for Christ Jesus which must be modeled through us! We have to prioritize teaching our children scriptures, sharing Gods truth, giving them the ability to see the good from the evil within today’s culture! How do we expect our children to understand that what they are posting or liking on social media is wrong if we continue to like it ourselves? So we want to model hypocrisy? Hypocrisy reeks of Idiocracy. We are all guilty of this! We see a post about how culture is declining and tik tok challenges are getting out of control and the youth of today is going wild and losing innocence, we write some thing on this post about how that will NEVER BE OUR CHILDREN! Only to like a post our children put out there an hour later doing the very things we said we would never tolerate!

Guys this is not the way we create change! We create change by growing change in the hearts of our home….And the heart of the home lies IN US. It begins with us.

“Do not be conformed to this world,c but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Romans 12:2

If we want the infinite love of God to radiate in our children it must first radiate through us. So get fired up! To those of you who couldn’t figure out what God has called you for I’m here to get you pumped and remind you that as a mother, a wife, a teacher, a friend. A student, Whatever else you may be,  you are called to be the heart!

To emit change, to redirect the lives and hearts of your family!

Stop settling for mediocrity when God destined you for greatness.

As the hearts of the home what are we to do? Think about it? In a logical sense, basic human anatomy what does a heart do? It’s pumping, is flowing, pumping blood through the body, keeping everything on track, everything smooth. Likewise, as the heart of the home we are called to create a peaceful sanctuary where creativity can flow and communication can thrive! We have to make sure the things we are pumping through our home are the very things that will allow the home to flow and stay on course/ pumping and moving in the ugly directions.

“These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”

Deuteronomy 6:6-9

I CHALLENGE EACH OF YOU TO SPEND 5 MINUTES EACH DAY WITH GOD.

QUESTIONS FOR THE WEEK; PREP FOR NEXT WEEKS STUDY.
