Today was one of those “look in the fridge and see what’s there you can make” kinda day because I haven’t been to the store in a week, and running low.

I had ground chicken and ground turkey and thought I’d try combining into patty’s to make an Asian patty with a red cabbage and carrot slaw, Asian sesame sweet and Spicey sauce with a fried egg and fried rice underneath.

And turned out to be so good! You could put the patty on bread and layer this as a burger dish or eat as a deconstructed piece or create a lettuce wedge wrap:

Iingredients:

Ground turkey

Grounds chicken

Egg

Seseme seeds

Garlic salt

Pepper

Red pepper flakes

Ground ginger

Soy sauce

sweet Chilli sauce-Walmart

Hoisin sauce -Walmart

White rice

Veggie oil

Carrots

Red cabbage (can use a slaw mixture from Aldi if red cabbage alone is unavailable)

Butter

Instructions

Add your ground meat (1lb turkey, 1lb chicken, an egg, soy sauce hoisin sauce, ground ginger and seseme seeds to a bowl) mix and roll into pattys.

I’m a separate bowl combine soy sauce, hoisin sauce and sweet chili sauce with seseme seeds. Make plenty as you will want to add more to too full meal with once plated.

Warm a cooking skillet with oil and sear pattys on both sides (about 3 mins per side). Place on a cookie sheet and add sauce to top. Put in oven on 350 about 10-15 minutes or until center is cooked through.

Rice: you can buy premade fried rice or you can but a mixed veggie frozen pack or a stir Frye pack and add into a skillet on medium to high heat with oil and butter. Add in rice and a cup of water, summer and store continuously. Add in some soy sauce to season.

Fry an egg (add oil to a pan make sure it is plenty warm before adding egg and frye)

Ate and serve:

Ways to plate:

Rice; cabbage slaw; latty, fried egg: sauce

Low carb lettuce wrap;

Lettuce wedge; slaw mixture; patty;fried egg;sauce

Asian burger

Bread of choice - brioche bun, seseme bun or regular bun are most tasteful with this- add sauce on bottom, patty, slaw mixture and fried egg, top again with sauce and add bun! Can make fried on the side by buying premade fries to cook in oven or on stove top on oil, or can slice a potato and Frye yourself!
