LEAD BY SERVING

A message from my husband Andrew.

For those of you who have known me for a while know Ive been to leadership schools and programs all over the country. It has taught me many skills such as organization/ logistics, public speaking, teaching others, and leading teams/groups of people. But the number one thing it taught me was in order to be a “leader” you must be a servant.

This post I saw makes me think about so many people in this world who want promotions, raises, status, attention, bigger roles in their life, jobs, careers etc. I think we tend to focus so much on where we want to be, or what we want that we forget the steps we have to take get there. We want instant gratification for the things we do, as soon as we step it up a notch we expect it to be noticed. In all reality the ones who keeps their head down, works hard, does for others, presses through with no expections from others and achieves the goals they have set will reap greater benefits in the end. Which don’t get me wrong it’s not always easy, I don’t always have the servant mentality but I strive to serve and bring God glory in every aspect of mine and my family’s life.

The mentality of I’m doing this for “ME”, I expect someone to notice what “I” did, “I” expect a raise, “I” expect a compliment, gets you no where. Trust me if you want true happiness, joy, peace, fulfillment, a complete vision and future try being a servant. Help someone load their groceries at the store who could use help, go the extra mile at work without expecting something in return, do that extra thing your wife keeps begging you to do that you put off ( even if she complains that you did it wrong 😂😉). I promise it may be irritating but well worth it in the end.
